Baseball always intrigued me. I was never good enough to play on any of the organized teams but would spend every summer sitting on the front steps and listening to the Cardinals play. When I retired and moved away from the city lights and major league baseball I started to search for another outlet for my sports mania. My next door neighbor was in a softball league and invited me to go with them to see a game. My first thought was sissy sport. Then I saw my first fast pitch game. How a person can get a ball that big to fly that fast I will never know.
