Introduction to Continuing Education

continuing education is an education imparted to adults or who have crossed traditional school, college or university age but it does not primarily focus on basic education, literacy or Basic English language skills. It is generally assumed that target student has already attained specific degree of education and he is simply now continuing it. It is associated with post-secondary education and programs. This kind of education for non-traditional students generally includes; degree credit courses, non-degree type career training, training specific to work, self-directed learning, learning specific to problem solving and personal grooming courses. Students can be inducted as part-time students in colleges and universities. These are also known as extension schools or university extension.
