Bulgarian reserve Bozhentsi

Bozhentsi is one of the most picturesque architectural ensembles of the Bulgarian Renaissance. In 1964 the settlement was proclaimed as an architectural-historical reserve with its houses. The village is located 16 кm from Gabrovo. It has nearly 600-century old history. Not only the high stone fences, the forged oak gates, the small cobble alleys and the small shops but also the two-storey white houses covered with heavy stone slates, over which white chimneys stick up, stone fountains and bridges make the place unique. The interior decoration is incredible-the walls all panelled in beech, the ceilings woodcarved with varied motives. The cupboards skilfully made and the doors decorated.Do you want to feel the magic around this place?Add it to your list with the Places to go in Bulgaria.
