The Internet as Resource for Personal Safety Items Such as Pepper Spray
Today I went searching the internet for information on personal safety equipment. I was amazed and a little bit ashamed somehow to see that my first page covered eight entries of 98,000 plus entries on the world wide web !
Were civilizations ever really civilized ? I was simply amazed and overwhelmed at what I saw. Guess my head has been in the sand somewhat. One can purchase pepper spray, bear spray, mace, personal alarm systems that fit on the end of a key chain stun guns (tazers), car alarms of all sorts. Let us not ignore safety belts; their sole purpose being to carry more than one personal safety device ! Does one actually think they will have the time to get past using the first choice ?
Call me a fool, but it seems to me that the more we emphasize that the world is an unsafe and generally rotten place to live, we make it so whether it really started out that way or not. Let’s all try to think about this for a change.
