The Evolution of Wood Homes
When we think of wood cabins the image that springs to mind is that of Abraham Lincoln’s first home. Wood, or log, cabins have come a long way from their origins in the early 1700’s. While originally built of logs without nails, consisting of one room and a sleeping loft, today’s modern log homes are sometimes elaborate affairs that are several thousand square feet large. As architectural styles changed, so did the styles of cabins. Today’s Wood cabins are filled with amenities. Cabins are available as kits, for the handy among us, or they can be built by contracting companies to reflect your fondest dreams. Home building companies still like to include a personal touch through painstaking craftsmanship and hand finished details.
