My husband and I are searching for a new home, and I think we have found the one that is perfect for us. The home has two disabled showers. We are not able to have children, so we decide to adopt. We have adopted two children so far, and both have physical disabilities. They are wheelchair bound. Neither can stand or walk. Our home is not ideal for the kids. We currently have bathtub and shower combos. My husband has to lift the kids into and out of the tub. That’s fine since they are young right now, but as they get older, I’m sure they will not want my husband to see them with no clothing on. If we had disabled showers, the kids could use the showers on their own. Our bathrooms are not large enough to replace our existing showers with disabled showers. We need to find a house that has disabled showers installed already or homes that have bathrooms that are large enough to have disabled showers installed.
