How Thin is Thin?

In America today, the main focus seems to be on how to lose weight quickly.  This shouldn’t seem too unusual due to the extraordinary number of people in the United States who are overweight.  Despite the strong urge to WANT to lose weight, the number of people who are obese continues to get larger and larger (no pun intended).  The problem with obesity can be attributed mostly to the number of people who lead predominantly sedentary lifestyles.  This includes a lifestyle consisting of little (if any) exercise, eating foods that are high in fats and sugars but low in nutritional value, and making other lifestyle choices that are unhealthy such as: smoking, drinking alcohol in excess, etc.  Some people are beginning to grow desperate with this growing epidemic of obesity.  They’re hiring personal trainers and nutritionists, reading tons of diet books, renting exercise videos, joining exercise classes, etc.  But really, how thin is too thin? To eat too much is irresponsible; but to eat too little is just the same.  We need to find a happy medium somwhere inbetween.
