Can You Just Burn Fat On A Diet?

So many people are obsessed with burning fat, as though the body will selectively burn fat stores over say, protein stores. Of course, it is preferable to conserve your protein stores when on a diet or exercise program, as you can end up losing muscle definition and strength. But it’s not that easy to just burn fat. Generally, in weight loss, a lot of water is lost first. That is why there seems to be a rapid weight loss initially.

However, you can encourage the body to burn fat by increasing the amount of some amino acids. I don’t think the attempts at ketosis by the Atkins diet people are that great a solution, though some people have found results with this. It tends to come with a bit of a long term cost to your health though.
