Bad Enough For A Radial Gutter Thumb Spica

One of the things I love most about schooling is when the schooling stops being just knowledge crammed into your brain, and it becomes applied in a real world scenario. For example, when I suffered a pretty nasty sprain to my hand, I found myself sitting in the doctor's office with him rattling off a bunch of terms I had learned in my Anatomy class, like "radial gutter". Apparently, my injury was bad enough for the necessity to use a radial gutter thumb spica, which will inhibit the mobility of not just my wrist, but my thumb, forefinger, and middle finger as well. All, of which are located on the radial bone side of the arm.
