Retirement Debts led to an IVA

When we retired it looked like we were going to have enough of an income to live happily ever after.  We were not making nearly what we made when we both worked full time but we also had been able to pay off the house and the car so we had shed our big monthly outgoes.   Life was good.   Then my mother became ill and we had to travel to her home on a regular basis.  Between airline tickets,  rent a car bills and hotel bills things got out of hand.  We were forced to enter into an IVA to recover from these debts.
